HOW TO WORK WITH US
It is hard to delineate the border between “proofreading” and “editing” so at HoneycombScientific we offer a two-tier menu :
- Proofreading with Minor Editing and
- Interactive Editing
Proofreading with Minor Editing
Proofreading with minor editing entails correcting errors (grammar, spelling, inconsistent use of terminology/tenses/style) and suggestions for improvements such as splitting long sentences, more precise definitions of concepts or better paragraphing.
The proofreading with minor editing service comprises returning to the author a first draft within a week of receipt of the original work (for submissions up to 10000 words) and a second “polished” version within 72 hours of receipt of the author’s updated text, to avoid new errors slipping in.
For proofreading and minor editing work of over 10000 words the turnaround time will be agreed at the time of submission.
Interactive Editing
Interactive editing is more appropriate for writers with less experience and proficiency. Interactive editing is a more invasive process, where, for instance, entire paragraphs may be rewritten and/or moved from one section to another.
In interactive editing, the author may resubmit his/her revised text up to four times (total of five submissions) until a satisfactory version is achieved.
Alternatively, the author may prefer a “once-off” revision to achieve a baseline/communicable text to work on and proceed from there at his/her own pace.
